Arsenal in talks over 6 million euros deal for Pape Gueye
Arsenal need to strengthen their midfield this summer.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal are in talks over 6 million euros deal for Pape Gueye.
The 21-year-old has a valid contract with Le Havre until June 2021.
Pape Gueye made 37 appearances across all competitions for Le Havre, supplying 2 assists in return.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France.
Gueye has represented France at Under-18 and Under-19 level, winning 10 caps.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The report details that Mikel Arteta feels his midfield currently lacks some bite and that he could strengthen this summer.
The France international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfielder Arteta wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Pape Gueye has the talent to play many roles in midfield.
According to the report, “Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Le Havre midfielder Pape Gueye. Jeunes Footeux says a €6million (£5m) is likely to be agreed with Le Havre for Gueye. The Gunners look set to beat a string of clubs to his signature at the end of the season. Emirates Stadium bosses previously dipped into Ligue 2 to lure Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient. The 21-year-old midfielder has proved a success so Arsenal will attempt to repeat the trick this summer.”

If the Arsenal can tie up a cheap deal for the player, it may not be a bad signing by any means.
The 21-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Arsenal squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.
How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.

Arteta, pleas get the boy, he is strong, good pass, can fit englsh game, and can our greately missed Patrick Viera. Thanks
and even better is that he is left -footed and would eventually replace Granit Xhaka who I believe Arteta knows isn’t really up to standard and will eventually need more athletic and agile players in the middle of the park to compete with the other teams.
