Arsenal eyeing move for PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen

There has been numerous forwards linked with Arsenal in past few months.

According to the football transfer rumours in Dutch media, Arsenal are eyeing move for PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen.

The 20-year-old has five years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.

This season, Malen has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in 14 appearances for PSV Eindhoven.

The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Netherlands.

Donyell Malen has represented Netherlands at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 55 caps and scoring 15 goals, before making his senior international debut in September 2019. As a member of Netherlands national football team, Malen won two caps and he scored one goal.

Unai Emery wants to sign a new forward and Malen is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Arsenal manager has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move this winter.

Arsenal are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

According to Football Oranje, “Arsenal are eyeing a move to bring Donyell Malen back to the club from PSV Eindhoven but the forward will not come cheap. Arsenal signed the forward from the Ajax academy back in 2014 but he then decided to join PSV Eindhoven two years later for a fee of less than €1 million. According to the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal are keeping tabs on their former player but 45! clubs have also enquired about the 20-year-old, who would not come cheap having just signed a new deal with PSV. According to the Mirror, a move for Malen could cost Arsenal around £50 million. However, given his form and international status that fee could always rise.”

PSV are reluctant to let Donyell Malen go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.

The 20-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Arsenal squad and would be a good buy in the winter transfer window.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal will make their move during the winter transfer window.
