Arsenal to consider bid for Juventus centre-back Mehdi Benatia

Arsenal appear to have a genuine interest in signing Mehdi Benatia this winter.

The reports in Italy suggested that Arsenal will consider bid for Juventus centre-back Mehdi Benatia.

Juventus reportedly paid Bayern Munich 17.9 million euros for Mehdi Benatia earlier this year. The 30-year-old has a valid contract with Juventus until June 2020.

Benatia has played 14 times for Juventus since signing from Bayern Munich, scoring two goals.

As a member of Morocco national football team, Benatia won 53 caps and he scored two goals.

Arsene Wenger wants to sign a new centre-back and Mehdi Benatia is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The report claims that Arsenal manager has extensively scouted Benatia and is considering a move for the centre-back.

Arsenal will be desperate to make an impact in winter transfer window.

According to the report, Moroccan centre-back is enjoying a fine run of form and has led Juventus to eight consecutive clean sheets. However, the Bianconeri are determined not to lose any important players next month and are reluctant to enter negotiations with the Gunners.

The 30-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Arsenal squad and would be a good buy.
