AC Milan will look to sign Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier
It’s been a transfer window full of surprises, and Milan could be set to carry on this trend.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, AC Milan will look to sign Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier.
The 27-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Tottenham spent 25 million euros to sign the Ivory Coast international from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017. The 27-year-old has a valid contract with Tottenham until June 2022.
Serge Aurier has played 62 times for Tottenham since signing from Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 5 goals and creating 12 assists in that time.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Ivory Coast.
His record for Ivory Coast is also impressive. Aurier has scored two goals in 60 matches for Ivory Coast at senior level.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including AC Milan.
Stefano Pioli wants to sign a new right-back and Serge Aurier is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Pioli is a long term admirer of Aurier and believes he can get the most out of the Ivory Coast international.
Milan are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Serge Aurier would provide a good variety to Milan’s defense.
According to the report, “The Rossoneri had been interested in the Ivorian last summer, but were priced out of a deal. Now however, website football.london states that Milan are contemplating whether to make another bid for the 27-year-old in the January transfer window. The report suggests that the Diavolo could submit a £15m offer for Aurier. Regular right-backs Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria have struggled for confidence this season, with Calabria in particular facing the wrath of Milan fans for throwing a birthday party on the same day in which they got beat 5-0 by Atalanta.”

It would take a huge offer from Milan to prise the 27-year-old right-back from Tottenham.
Signing the 27-year-old in the winter transfer window would be a masterstroke from Pioli.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Milan.
It will be interesting to see whether Milan will make their move during the winter transfer window.
