AC Milan submit official bid for Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra

AC Milan have made their first official move in the summer transfer window by submitting a formal offer for Valencia‘s promising midfielder, Javi Guerra. As reported by Di Marzio and confirmed by other sources, the Rossoneri are looking to reinforce their midfield after the departure of Tijjani Reijnders and have identified the 22-year-old Spaniard as a primary target.

Guerra, who has steadily emerged as one of the most talented young midfielders in La Liga, featured in 89 matches for Valencia across all competitions. In that time, he registered eight goals and four assists, demonstrating a growing maturity and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively. On the international stage, he has represented Spain at the U21 level, earning 18 caps and scoring one goal.

AC Milan are reportedly offering €16 million upfront for the midfielder, with an additional €4 million in performance-related bonuses. The total package would bring the bid to €20 million, which is still slightly below what Valencia were rumored to be seeking. Last year, the Spanish club had reportedly held discussions with Atletico Madrid over a potential €25 million transfer fee for Guerra, showing that their valuation of the player remains high.

Nevertheless, Milan remain optimistic about closing the deal. A key factor in their confidence is the reported desire of Javi Guerra himself to make the move to San Siro. Player will often plays a decisive role in transfers of this nature, especially when the financial gap between the two clubs isn’t insurmountable. Milan are believed to be counting on Guerra’s interest in wearing the red and black jersey to help push the transfer over the line.

This pursuit marks the latest chapter in Milan’s ongoing efforts to rebuild a midfield that has seen significant changes over the past year. After the high-profile sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United, Milan acted swiftly to bring in reinforcements. However, with Reijnders also now leaving, the Rossoneri find themselves once again in a position where midfield reinforcements are crucial to their plans for the upcoming season.

Javi Guerra’s style of play, characterized by technical quality, vision, and a tireless work rate, makes him a fitting candidate for Milan’s system. Still early in his career, he offers a blend of potential and experience that aligns with the club’s long-term strategy of nurturing young talent while remaining competitive at the highest level.

While negotiations continue and Valencia may push for a higher fee, the outcome now hinges largely on whether the Spanish club is willing to compromise and how much weight Guerra’s own preferences will carry. Milan, for their part, are staying proactive and seem determined to wrap up the deal swiftly.

With the new season fast approaching, fans will be watching closely to see if Javi Guerra becomes the latest addition to the Rossoneri midfield.
