AC Milan preparing move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches

The upcoming winter will see Milan improving their midfield department.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, AC Milan are preparing move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.

The Portugal international joined Lille from Bayern Munich for a fee in the region of 20 million euros in August 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.

The midfielder has featured in 8 matches this term, providing one assist in all competitions.

The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Portugal. His record for Portugal is impressive. Sanches has scored 3 goals in 32 matches for Portugal at senior level.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Milan.

Stefano Pioli wants to sign a new midfielder and Sanches is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Lille midfielder and Milan could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Italian giants are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

There is no doubt that Renato Sanches will take Milan’s midfield to a different level.

According to the report, “AC Milan are ready to move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches in January. The Portugal international is available from the French champions after coming close to leaving last summer. La Gazzetta dello Sport says Arsenal made a €35m offer for Sanches towards the end of last season, but the deal fell through after the midfielder was injured during the Euros. Milan are now making a move with Sanches returning to action. The midfielder is aware of Milan’s interest and has let it be known he’s open to a move. Sanches’ €5.5m salary demands also falls within Milan’s budget.”

Lille are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the midfielder, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

It would take a huge offer from Milan to prise the 24-year-old midfielder from Lille.

The Italian giants are reportedly facing competition from Arsenal in their pursuit of Lille midfielder.

Good signing for AC Milan?

If Renato Sanches is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Milan.

The 24-year-old Portugal international could be a very good squad player for Stefano Pioli over the next few years. He is at the peak of his career right now and Pioli could bring out the best in him.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Milan.
