AC Milan monitoring Brentford winger Mikkel Damsgaard
There has been numerous wingers linked with Milan in past few months.
British source report that Milan are monitoring Brentford star Mikkel Damsgaard.
The Denmark international was signed by Brentford in August 2022 from Sampdoria for a fee of 15 million euros. He has a contract until 2027 with the club.
In total, he has supplied one assist from 11 Brentford matches.
The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Denmark. Damsgaard has also left his mark at the international stage after netting four goals in 21 senior appearances for the Denmark national team.
His impressive performances have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
AC Milan have earmarked Brentford winger Mikkel Damsgaard as their target, with Stefano Pioli being a ‘huge admirer’ of the player.
The Red and Blacks have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Stefano Pioli is a firm fan of Brentford winger and Milan could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
AC Milan are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Sampdoria man will add more quality to AC Milan’s attack. His arrival would give Milan some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “Brentford winger Mikkel Damsgaard is on the radar of AC Milan. The Rossoneri’s brainstrust Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara see the Dane as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao. The directors are putting together a short list in the event they’re forced to sell Leao as contract talks stall – and Damsgaard features highly.”

The Bees are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the winger, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
It would take a huge offer from Milan to prise the 22-year-old winger from Brentford.
Good signing for AC Milan?
If Milan and Pioli are seriously considering a winger, Damsgaard could also prove to be a smart option.
A winger of Mikkel Damsgaard’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Milan squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Pioli’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his attacking department.
How strong that interest is and whether Milan will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
