West Ham willing to buy Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
The attacking department of the West Ham squad needs quality additions this winter.
According to multiple reports emanating from England, West Ham are willing to buy Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The 20-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Georgia international joined Rubin Kazan from Rustavi on a free transfer in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.
This season, Kvaratskhelia has scored one goal and provided three assists in 17 appearances for Rubin Kazan.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 20-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 5 goals in 12 senior appearances for the Georgia national team.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including West Ham.
By the club’s own admission, Rubin Kazan winger is West Ham’s transfer target. The report claims that West Ham manager has extensively scouted Kvaratskhelia and is considering a move for the winger.
The Hammers will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.
The former Rustavi man would provide a good variety to West Ham’s attack.
According to the report, “West Ham United are getting serious about Rubin Kazan forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Hammers are taking a close look at the 20-year-old Georgian. Everton and Southampton also have an interest in the youngster. But Football Insider reports West Ham are the most eager, and are willing to match the asking price of roughly £13 million. If they can put together the funds, West Ham could steal a march on their rivals by securing Kvaratskhelia in the next few weeks.”
Euro Football Rumours
Rubin Kazan are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the winger, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
It would take a huge offer from West Ham to prise the 20-year-old winger from Kazan.
Good signing for West Ham?
If Kvaratskhelia is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for West Ham.
The Georgia international is still quite young and he will only get better with experience. He would be a good long term investment for West Ham.
All in all, Kvaratskhelia will be an ideal choice for David Moyes as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers.
How strong that interest is and whether West Ham will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
