West Ham eye a 14 million euros transfer for Liverpool centre-back: A good move by David Moyes?
As the winter transfer window comes closer and closer West Ham are being linked with more and more potential transfers.
The latest reports in England suggest that West Ham are eyeing a 14 million euros transfer for Nat Phillips.
The England international joined Liverpool from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer in August 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2025.
In 23 appearances for Liverpool, Phillips has managed to score one goal, and create one goal for his teammates.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Nat Phillips is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Liverpool this winter and the list of suitors in the England international continues to grow. He is widely regarded as a key transfer target for West Ham this winter.
David Moyes is a firm fan of Liverpool centre-back and West Ham could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The former Bolton Wanderers man heavily relies on his ability to read the game. It is coupled with his sensible tackling and an excellent sense of positioning, allowing him to repel most of the danger in the defensive third. His arrival would give West Ham some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “West Ham United are lining up a move for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips. Despite signing a new contract in the summer, Phillips has made just two appearances for the Reds this season. According to Football Insider, the Hammers are putting things in place to sign Phillips when the transfer window opens in January. Phillips made a big impact on Jurgen Klopp’s team last season after a spate of injuries left them with a dearth of centre-backs. It is believed Liverpool would accept an offer of around £12m to sign the 24-year-old.”

If West Ham can agree on a fee with the Reds, the deal should be easy to complete. It is claimed that Liverpool are open to letting Nat Phillips go.
Good signing for West Ham?
If Phillips is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for West Ham.
This could be a very interesting move, Phillips has lots of potential and West Ham could be the perfect place for him to develop as a player.
How strong that interest is and whether the Hammers will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
