West Brom set to sign Huddersfield Town forward Karlan Grant
West Brom have been heavily linked with a move for Karlan Grant over the course of the transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, West Brom are set to sign Huddersfield Town forward Karlan Grant.
The England U18 international joined Huddersfield Town from Charlton Athletic for a fee in the region of 1.7 million euros in January 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
In 57 appearances for Huddersfield, Grant has managed to score 23 goals, and create 5 goals for his teammates.
Karlan Grant has represented England at Under-17 and Under-18 level, winning 4 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including WBA.
Slaven Bilic wants to sign a new forward and Karlan Grant is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
Grant is a long-term target of WBA and could be a decent addition for Bilic’s side.
The 23-year-old will offer the West Brom boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “West Brom are poised to sign Karlan Grant from Huddersfield Town in a surprising loan-to-buy agreement. The saga has been running all summer long, with Grant being frozen out by Town boss Carlos Corberan amid the uncertainty. Football Insider are now reporting that Grant will head to the Baggies – but on slightly different terms than originally expected. They claim that discussions between the two clubs are at an advanced stage and a fresh breakthrough has given new hope it can be finalised by Friday’s 5pm domestic cut-off.”

If West Brom can agree on a fee with Huddersfield, the deal should be easy to complete.
Good signing for West Brom?
A move away from Huddersfield Town will not be only the best move for Karlan Grant, but also for the club.
WBA could benefit by signing Grant as the forward is one of the areas of concern for Slaven Bilic.
Karlan Grant has all the skillset required to be a success story at West Brom. Therefore, it makes sense for Bilic to step up his attempts to bring the England forward to Premier League side.
The ball is in WBA’s court and they need to take a decision on signing Grant.
