Watford eyeing move for Everton winger Aaron Lennon

winger Aaron Lennon has emerged as a surprise target for Watford in the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in British Media (Mirror), Watford are eyeing move for Everton winger Aaron Lennon.

The England international has joined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee in the region of 6 million euros in September 2015. The 30-year-old has a valid contract with Everton until June 2018.

Since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur, Aaron Lennon has scored 9 goals and provided 4 assists in 58 games for Everton.

Aaron Lennon has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 29 caps, before making his senior international debut in June 2006. As a member of England national football team, Aaron Lennon has won 21 caps.

The winger’s contract at Everton is about to expire in 12 months and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Watford showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.

Aaron Lennon is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Everton this summer and the list of suitors in the England international continues to grow.

Adding a winger remains Watford’s top priority this summer and Marco Silva will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Watford are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

According to the report in British Media, Watford want to add Aaron Lennon to their team either on loan or for a very small fee.

How strong that interest is and whether Watford will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
