Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah subject to interest from Liverpool

When it comes to the transfer market, Liverpool are simply one of the best in the business.

According to multiple reports emanating from England, Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah is subject to interest from Liverpool.

The United States international joined Valencia from Arsenal on a free transfer in 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.

The midfielder has managed two goal contributions across all competitions in the ongoing campaign.

The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in United States. Musah has earned 22 senior caps for the United States national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.

His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.

Klopp needs to tighten up his midfield and a central midfielder would be a welcome addition. The Liverpool manager has kept an eye on Musah for the last 12 months and he is impressed with the midfielder’s performances.

The Reds will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.

The former Arsenal man will add more quality to Liverpool’s midfield.

According to the report, “Liverpool have added an American midfielder to their wish list but face a battle to sign him. Liverpool have made it known to the representatives of Yunus Musah that they would be interested in signing the Valencia midfielder. While a report from 90min confirms Arsenal have not stopped “tracking his development”, it has come to light that Liverpool are interested in him too. Valencia feel under no pressure to sell and will “demand a significant fee” before letting him go. His contract, after all, is due to last until 2026 and already contains a €100million release clause.”

Euro Football Rumours

The Reds will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Valencia to the negotiating table. Liverpool have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

Good signing for Liverpool?

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.

Musah is very highly rated in USA and he could be a superb long term signing for Liverpool.

If Jürgen Klopp sees him as the right man for his side, Liverpool should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
