Tottenham linked with surprise move for Marouane Fellaini
The Spurs had been linked with a potential move to sign Marouane Fellaini in the winter transfer window.
The latest reports in England suggest that Tottenham are again linked with a move for Shandong Luneng midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgium international was signed by Shandong Luneng in February 2019 from Manchester United for a fee of 7.2 million euros. The 33-year-old has a valid contract with Shandong until December 2021.
The midfielder has featured in 57 matches for Shandong in all competitions.
The 33-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Belgium. Marouane Fellaini has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 18 goals in 87 senior appearances for the Belgium national team.
Given that his contract is expiring in December and he has not yet signed an extension, the rumors have only heated up in recent weeks.
Jose Mourinho wants to sign a new midfielder and Fellaini is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
Marouane Fellaini is a long-term target of Tottenham and could be a decent addition for Mourinho’s side.

Voetbal24 says Spurs considered Fellaini in January, but found Shandong Luneng’s asking price too rich. Instead, they will now wait until June to take the Belgium international in a free transfer, with Mourinho driving the deal. Now 33, Fellaini has been playing the past three seasons in China.”
