Tottenham linked with fresh move for Hakim Ziyech
It’s no secret that Tottenham are interested in Ajax’s attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech. But who isn’t?
The latest reports in England suggest that Tottenham are linked with fresh move for Hakim Ziyech.
Ajax spent 11 million euros to sign the Morocco international from Twente in the summer of 2016. The 26-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2022.
Hakim Ziyech has played 151 times for Ajax since signing from Twente, scoring 46 goals and creating 76 assists.
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best attacking midfielders in Morocco.
His record for Morocco is also impressive. Ziyech has scored 12 goals in 23 matches for Morocco at senior level.
Hakim Ziyech is widely regarded as a key transfer target for Tottenham this winter.
Mauricio Pochettino is a long term admirer of Ziyech and believes he can get the most out of the Morocco international.
Tottenham are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Hakim Ziyech would provide a good variety to Tottenham’s attack.
According to Teamtalk (via 90min), “Tottenham are reportedly lining up Ajax sensation Hakim Ziyech as the potential replacement for wantaway playmaker Christian Eriksen. Denmark star Eriksen has made it clear to the club that he is leaving in summer 2020 once his contract expires, although it’s thought that Spurs would be prepared to sell if a decent offer comes in the 27-year-old. It was initially hoped that they had already found a ready-made replacement in Giovani Lo Celso, but the Argentine has struggled with injury since sealing his loan move from Real Betis – although his recent form has been impressive. But according to a report on 90min, Ziyech is very high on Tottenham’s list of Eriksen alternatives and Daniel Levy is ready to break the bank to get his man.”
