Torino looking to loan Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira
There has been numerous midfielders linked with Torino in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in British and Italian media, Torino are pushing to loan Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The Uruguay international joined Arsenal from Sampdoria for a fee in the region of 28 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Torreira, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, has scored one goal across all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Uruguay.
Lucas Torreira has earned 26 senior caps for the Uruguay national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.
The Uruguay international midfielder has struggled to adapt to Spanish football and he could be made available this winter.
Torino are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target.
The Uruguay international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfielder Marco Giampaolo wants to target in the winter transfer window.
Torino are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Torreira will take Torino’s midfield to a different level.
According to the report, “A return to Italy is being mooted for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira. Currently on-loan with Atletico Madrid, Torreira is set to be sent back to the Gunners next month – on approval of coach Diego Simeone. TMW says Arsenal won’t be keeping hold of the midfielder and instead will allow him to find a new loan club. And Torino have emerged as an early contender for his signature.”
