Torino in advanced talks to bring Roma defender Juan Jesus
Torino have reportedly made contact with Roma over a deal to sign Brazil international.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Torino are in advanced talks to bring Roma defender Juan Jesus.
The Brazil international joined Roma from Internazionale for a fee in the region of 8 million euros in July 2017. His contract expires in the summer of 2020.
Jesus made 62 appearances across all competitions for Roma, supplying one assist in return.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Brazil.
Juan Jesus has represented Brazil at Under-20 level, winning 23 caps, before making his senior international debut in May 2012. As a member of Brazil national football team, Jesus won 4 caps.
Jesus is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Roma this summer and the list of suitors in the Brazil international continues to grow.
Walter Mazzarri is looking to shore up his defensive options and Roma’s Juan Jesus happens to be a target.
The report claims that Torino manager has extensively scouted Jesus and is considering a move for the defender.
Torino are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
According to Calciomercato, “With Serie A transfer market closing this Friday, Torino are in search for a defender and their top priority is Roma’s Juan Jesus. After the new signings for the Giallorossi Jesus is clearly Eusebio Di Francesco’s last option at the back. Il Granata coach Walter Mazzarri has been an admirer of the Brazilian and has been trying to sign him all summer. Jesus has represented two Serie A teams Roma and Inter, he also has Champions League experience as he represented La Magica in their road to the semi-finals last season.”
