Sporting CP are discussing a move to sign Adrien Silva.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Sporting CP are linked with surprise move for Leicester City midfielder Adrien Silva.
The Portugal international was signed by Leicester City in August 2017 from Sporting for a fee of 25 million euros. The 31-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
This season, Silva has provided two assists in 25 appearances for Monaco.
As a member of Portugal national football team, Silva won 26 caps and he scored one goal.
Adrien Silva is currently out of favor at Leicester City and could leave the club this summer.
Sporting are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Silva will take Sporting’s midfield to a different level.
According to the report, “Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas is exploring the prospect of re-signing Adrien Silva from Leicester City. The Foxes midfielder has spent this season on-loan with AS Monaco, though the Ligue Une outfit have no interest in signing him permanently. Instead, reports O Jogo, Varandas is hoping to strike a deal to bring Silva back to Sporting for next season. Leicester are aiming to recoup the €24.5m they paid for Silva – a figure Sporting cannot afford to meet. Further complicating matters is Silva’s €5m salary is also out of reach of the Lisbon giants.”

Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for Sporting.
