Southampton linked with a move for Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski

The attacking department of the Southampton squad needs quality additions this summer.

According to multiple reports emanating from England, Southampton are linked with a move for Aberdeen forward Bojan Miovski.

Miovski has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Macedonia international joined Aberdeen from MTK for a fee in the region of 650,000 euros in July 2022. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.

The forward banged in 17 goals and provided one assist in 32 matches for Aberdeen this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third.

The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Macedonia. The Aberdeen forward has also represented Macedonia at various youth levels before going on to secure 13 senior caps for his country thus far.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Southampton.

Ruben Selles wants to sign a new forward and Miovski is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Macedonia international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacker Selles wants to target in the summer transfer window.

The former Bregalnica man provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Selles’ side.

According to the report, “Aberdeen attacker Bojan Miovski is being watched by Southampton. The Macedonian international has hit 15 goals in 27 league appearances following a summer move from MTK Budapest and is enjoying his best campaign in professional football. Miovski, 23, joined for a fee well under £1million after spells playing in his home country before two years in the Hungarian capital. Miovski has also bagged against Rangers in the Scottish League Cup semi-final – which Aberdeen lost – last month. The Scottish Sun says Saints are keeping tabs on the forward’s development and that scouts watched him play during a 4-0 defeat at Celtic Park.”

Aberdeen are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the forward, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

The Saints have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Macedonia international.

Good signing for Southampton?

If Bojan Miovski is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Southampton.

Miovski has all the skillset required to be a success story at Southampton. Therefore, it makes sense for Ruben Selles to step up his attempts to bring the Macedonian forward to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit at St. Mary’s Stadium.
