Sheffield United set to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale
is getting closer to Sheffield United day by day as transfer talk continues to intensify.
British source claim that Sheffield United are set to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The England international was signed by Bournemouth in January 2017 from Sheffield United for a fee of 940,000 euros. The 22-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.
Since his arrival from Sheffield, Ramsdale has conceded 62 goals and provided 5 clean sheets in 37 games for Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England.
Ramsdale has represented England at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 26 caps.
The 22-year-old will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Bournemouth this term.
Adding a goalkeeper remains Sheffield United’s top priority this summer and Chris Wilder will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.
Wilder is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
Sheffield United are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
According to the report, “Sheffield United are eying a replacement for Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson. The latter was on loan with the Premier League side for all of the past two seasons. But his loan deal is now up, and it is likely he will go back to United to compete with David De Gea for a starting spot. And The Sun claims Sheffield will chase Aaron Ramsdale from Bournemouth to fill the void of Henderson’s departure. Ramsdale is a Blades old-boy, and would fit right in with the squad Chris Wilder is building at the club. He was sold three years ago, and is now 22 and established as one of the most promising keepers in the Premier League.”
