Sevilla eyeing move for Jose Juan Macias
Guadalajara striker Jose Juan Macias is a target for Sevilla in the summer transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Sevilla are eyeing move for Guadalajara striker Jose Juan Macias.
The 20-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
This season, Jose Juan Macias has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 14 appearances for Leon.
The 20-year-old has long been touted as one of Mexico’s most promising young talents.
Macias has represented Mexico at Under-18, Under-20, Under-21 and Under-22 level, winning 20 caps and scoring 20 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2019.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
Sevilla sporting director Monchi is looking to shore up his attacking options and Guadalajara’s Macias happens to be a target. The report claims that Monchi has extensively scouted Macias and is considering a move for the striker.
There is no doubt that Jose Juan Macias will take Sevilla’s attack to a different level.
According to Football Espana, “Sevilla are reportedly tracking the progress of Mexican star Jose Juan Macias. According to reports in Estadio Deportivo, Julen Lopetegui’s side have been alerted to his excellent form with Liga MX side Leon, where he is on loan from parent club Guadalajara. The 20-year old has netted 17 goals in 31 games for Leon, as well as four in three for the Mexico national team, after making his senior debut back in October. Sevilla Sporting Director Monchi has confirmed the club are looking at the potential of bringing him to Spain, and a summer move is being considered. Sevilla have struggled for goals so far this season, following the summer departures of Wissam Ben Yedder, Luis Muriel and Pablo Sarabia, with Javier Hernandez, Luuk De Jong and Munas Dabour managing just two La Liga goals between them so far this season.”

Guadalajara are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the striker, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Signing the 20-year-old would be a masterstroke from Sevilla sporting director Monchi.
Stylistically, Jose Juan Macias would be a great fit in Sevilla.
How strong that interest is and whether Sevilla will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
