Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Diadie Samassékou in advanced negotiations with Milan

There has been numerous midfielders linked with AC Milan in past few months.

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Diadie Samassékou is in advanced negotiations with AC Milan, according to the football transfer rumours in British media.

The 22-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Mali international joined Red Bull Salzburg from Liefering in July 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2019.

Samassékou has played 89 times for Red Bull Salzburg since signing from Liefering, creating four assists in that time.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Mali.

As a member of Mali national football team, Samassékou won five caps.

 

 

Gennaro Gattuso wants to sign a new midfielder and Diadie Samassékou is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Gattuso has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.

AC Milan are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

According to Football Italia (via RMC Sport), “Milan have reportedly opened talks to sign Red Bull Salzburg and Mali starlet Diadie Samassekou. According to RMC Sport, Milan are hoping to sign Samassekou for ‘a low fee’, given the midfielder’s contract expires next summer. The 22-year-old is valued at €18m by Transfermarkt and helped Salzburg reach the Europa League semi-finals last season, beating Lazio along the way. Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso is also on record as demanding a player with ‘the same characteristics as Franck Kessie’ to be brought in.”
