Real Madrid monitoring Pedro Porro
There has been numerous right-backs linked with Real Madrid in past few months.
The latest reports in Portugal suggest that Real Madrid are monitoring Manchester City right-back Pedro Porro.
The Spain international joined Manchester City from Girona for a fee in the region of 12 million euros in August 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2022. In August 2020, Pedro Porro was sent to Sporting on a two year long loan.
The right-back has featured in 8 matches this term, netting 2 goals and providing one assist in all competitions.
The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Spain. Porro has represented Spain at Under-21 level, winning 7 caps, before making his senior international debut in March 2021. As a member of Spain national football team, Porro won one cap.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Real.
The Spanish giants are looking to sign a right-back and have identified the 22-year-old as potential transfer target.
The report claims that Real scouts have extensively scouted Porro and are considering a move for the right-back.
Pedro Porro would provide a good variety to Real Madrid’s defense.
According to the report, “Real Madrid are tracking Manchester City fullback Pedro Porro. Porro is currently on-loan with Sporting CP, with the deal carrying a permanent option. City appear to have given up on the Spain international and his form with Sporting has led to interest from Real Madrid. O Jogo says Real scouts are keeping tabs on Porro this season. Real have big concerns over their right-back role given Dani Carvajal’s injury problems.”

Pedro Porro has all the skillset required to be a success story at Real Madrid. Therefore, it makes sense for Ancelotti to step up his attempts to bring the Spain right-back to La Liga side.
It will be interesting to see if Real are willing to pay the asking price for Porro.
