Real Madrid linked with surprise move for Andy Robertson
When it comes to the transfer market, Real Madrid are simply one of the best in the business.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Real Madrid are linked with surprise move for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.
The Scotland international was signed by Liverpool in July 2017 from Hull City for a fee of 9 million euros. The 25-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.
Robertson has played 94 times for Liverpool since signing from Hull City, scoring 3 goals and creating 21 assists in that time.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 25-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
His record for Scotland is also impressive. Robertson has scored 3 goals in 33 matches for Scotland at senior level.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez wants to sign a new left-back and Andy Robertson is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
Andy Robertson would provide a good variety to Real Madrid’s defense.
According to Football Espana, “Real Madrid have reportedly identified Liverpool defender Andy Robertson as the long-term successor to Marcelo. Los Blancos invested €55m in signing Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyonnais this summer while Sergio Reguilon is currently on loan at Sevilla, following the sale of Theo Hernandez to Milan. Marcelo has clocked up 493 appearances for Madrid since his January 2007 move from Fluminense, but his form has been waning for the past 18 months. Now a report in Defensa Central claims they have an ‘exclusive’ on the club identifying Scotland international Robertson as the most ideal replacement for the Brazilian.”

It would take a huge offer from Real Madrid to prise the 25-year-old left-back from Liverpool.
Signing the 25-year-old would be a masterstroke from Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Real Madrid.
How strong that interest is and whether Real Madrid will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
