Real Madrid eye a 30 million euros transfer for Flamengo midfielder: A good move by Carlo Ancelotti?
When it comes to the transfer market, Real Madrid are simply one of the best in the business.
As per British media, Real Madrid eye a 30 million euros transfer for Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes.
He has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The 21-year-old’s current deal runs out in the winter of 2025.
In 106 appearances for Flamengo, Gomes has managed to score 3 goals, and create 3 goals for his teammates.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Brazil.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The Spanish giants have earmarked Gomes as their target, with Ancelotti being a ‘huge admirer’ of the player.
Carlo Ancelotti has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. Ancelotti will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this winter and the Flamengo midfielder is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.
The 21-year-old will offer the Real boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Real Madrid are interested in Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes. Gomes has been likened to Manchester United midfielder and former Real star Casemiro. ESPN says Real see Gomes as a potential replacement for his fellow Brazilian. They’d be willing to pay €30m for the youngster. Liverpool and Manchester United are also mentioned as suitors for the 21 year-old – and both would be prepared to outbid Real in January.”
Euro Football Rumours
Real Madrid will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Flamengo to the negotiating table. They have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.
Flamengo are preparing to sell their midfielder should they receive a massive offer for him.
Good signing for Real Madrid?
It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.
Of course, the 21-year-old is not going to become a regular for Real straightaway, but working under Carlo Ancelotti would make him a better player.
It will be interesting to see if Real can beat their rivals to the midfielder’s signature.
