He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth. Akieme will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Almeria this term.

Manuel Pellegrini wants to sign a new left-back and Akieme is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Almeria left-back and Real Betis could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

Real Betis are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The former Barcelona man will offer the Betis boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

According to the report, “Real Betis are eyeing Almeria left-back Sergio Akieme. The former Barcelona starlet has impressed with Almeria this season and brought him to the attention of Betis scouts. ABC says Betis have already kicked off talks with Almeria about a fee for Akieme. The wing-back was sold by Barca last year for €3.5m, which includes an option for first refusal and a 10 per cent sell-on fee.”

If Betis can agree on a fee with Almeria, the deal should be easy to complete.

Good signing for Real Betis?

The 24-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Betis squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Real Betis.

If Pellegrini sees him as the right man for his side, Betis should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
