Paris Saint-Germain preparing move for Raphael Varane
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on France international Raphael Varane.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Paris Saint-Germain are preparing move for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane.
The 26-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The France international joined Real Madrid from Lens for a fee in the region of 10 million euros in July 2011. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
Varane made 275 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid, scoring 12 goals and supplying 6 assists in return.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 26-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
His record for France is also impressive. Varane has scored 4 goals in 56 matches for France at senior level.
The report details that Thomas Tuchel feels his defense currently lacks some bite and that he could strengthen this summer.
Tuchel is a long term admirer of Varane and believes he can get the most out of the France international.
According to Calciomercato (via Tuttosport), “PSG are preparing a mega-offer of a reported €90m for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane. Varane, however, has been a target of Juventus that the Bianconeri would like to add to their defence and PSG will therefore likely have to compete with the Turin side for Varane’s signature. Varane is reportedly interested in a new challenge and Manchester United have also been linked, aside from PSG and Juventus. Varane was a part of the France team that lifted the FIFA World Cup in Russia last year and is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in the world.”
