Newcastle United eyeing move for Marcus Thuram

The Magpies could be in for a busy transfer this winter.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Newcastle United are eyeing move for Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.

The 25-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Borussia Monchengladbach spent 9 million euros to sign the France international from Guingamp in the summer of 2019. He has a valid contract until June 2023.

The forward has played 119 times for Borussia Monchengladbach over the course of his career, scoring 41 goals and providing 26 assists.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in France. Thuram has earned 4 senior caps for the France national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.

Marcus Thuram is out of contract at the end of this season and he is free to enter into talks with Newcastle when the transfer window opens in January.

Adding a forward remains Newcastle’s top priority this winter and Eddie Howe will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Borussia Monchengladbach will not be able to demand a significant fee for Thuram since his current deal is set to expire in 2023.
