Newcastle eyeing move for Ross Barkley
As the summer transfer window comes closer and closer Newcastle are being linked with more and more potential transfers.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Newcastle United are eyeing move for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.
The England international joined Chelsea from Everton for a fee in the region of 16.8 million euros in January 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023. In September 2020, Ross Barkley was sent to Aston Villa on a season-long loan.
In 26 appearances for Aston Villa, Barkley has managed to score 4 goals, and create one goal for his teammates.
Ross Barkley has also scored six goals in 33 games for his country.
The England international is believed to be available for transfer, with Steve Bruce now keen to bring him to Newcastle.
Bruce is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
The England international will offer the Newcastle boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections. Barkley has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley. The Magpies are unlikely to spend big in the summer, even after avoiding relegation from the Premier League. Manager Steve Bruce will have a modest budget, and will have to wheel and deal to get the players he needs. Barkley is set to return to Chelsea after a relatively successful loan spell with Aston Villa this season. If he were to become available for a loan or cut price deal, the Magpies would be interested in securing his signature, per Chronicle Live. They had some interest in him last summer, but he eventually went to Villa.”
