Napoli set to sign Lille forward Victor Osimhen
Napoli are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Napoli are set to sign Lille forward Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international only joined Lille from Charleroi in 2019 for 14 million euros and his contract runs to June 2024.
The forward has featured in 38 matches for Lille this term, netting 18 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Nigeria.
The Lille forward has also represented the Nigeria at various youth levels before going on to secure 8 senior caps for his country thus far.
Osimhen has been in impressive form for Lille this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Napoli.
Gennaro Gattuso needs to tighten up his attack and a forward would be a welcome addition.
The report claims that Napoli manager has extensively scouted Osimhen and is considering a move for the forward.

According to the report, ” Napoli are reportedly trying to close the deal with Victor Osimhen in the next few days, currently in contact with Lille to complete the transfer. Journalist Nicolò Schira claims LOSC forward Osimhen has been offered a five-year deal worth €3m a year plus add-ons at the San Paolo. The report claims President Aurelio De Laurentiis is certain the Partenopei will get the deal across the line very soon. Schira writes the two clubs are currently working to complete the controversial move as soon as possible. The Nigerian youngster arrived in Naples for a tour last week, but sources close to the player claimed the 21-year-old was being pushed to the Serie A side against his will. Reports yesterday claimed the striker has put the concerns behind him and accepted a move to Napoli.”
