Milan linked with a move for Sevilla forward Luis Muriel
There has been numerous forwards linked with AC Milan in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Milan are linked with a move for Sevilla forward Luis Muriel.
The Colombia international joined Sevilla from Sampdoria for a fee in the region of 21.5 million euros in July 2017. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
Muriel has played 43 times for Sevilla since signing from Sampdoria, scoring nine goals and creating three assists in that time.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Colombia.
Luis Muriel has also scored one goal in 17 games for his country.
The Colombia international has impressed in La Liga this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.
Gennaro Gattuso is looking to shore up his attacking options and Sevilla’s Muriel happens to be a target.
The Colombia international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of forward Gattuso wants to target in the summer transfer window.
AC Milan will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
According to Football Italia (via Tuttosport), “According to Tuttosport, the Diavolo are looking to bring in another striker in the summer and they had identified Edin Dzeko of Roma and Torino’s Andrea Belotti as targets. However, with no Champions League football and a Financial Fair Play sanction to come, Milan cannot afford the outlay it would take to sign one of those players. Therefore, the newspaper reports, they’ve turned their attention to Muriel who already has Serie A experience with Udinese and Sampdoria.”

Sevilla are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the forward, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in AC Milan.
