Milan interested in PSG star Edinson Cavani
striker Edinson Cavani has emerged as a surprise target for AC Milan in the winter transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (Calciomercato), AC Milan are interested in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguay international has joined Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli for a fee in the region of 68 million euros in July 2013. The 30-year-old has a valid contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2020.
Since his arrival from Napoli, Edinson Cavani has scored 139 goals and provided 23 assists in 206 games for Paris Saint-Germain, including 9 goals and provided two assists in 8 games in all competitions this season.
The Uruguay international has been in outstanding form for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
Edinson Cavani has represented Uruguay at Under-20 and Under-23 level, winning 16 caps and scoring 14 goals, before making his senior international debut in February 2008. As a member of Uruguay national football team, Edinson Cavani has won 94 caps and has scored 38 goals.
Vincenzo Montella wants to sign a new striker this winter and Edinson Cavani is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Edinson Cavani and believes he can get the most out of the Uruguay international.
AC Milan manager will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this winter and the Paris Saint-Germain striker is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

According to the report in Italian Media, the future of Cavani at Paris Saint-Germain is under serious threat after his penalty kick row with the Brazilian star Neymar. Although PSG manager decided to omit the Brazilian forward from PSG squad at the weekend, Cavani could still be leaving Paris at the end of the season given that he is clearly not on good terms with the Neymar. Regarding to the same report, AC Milan would be open to offer Cavani an escape route from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
