Marseille interested in Caen striker Ivan Santini
striker Ivan Santini has emerged as a surprise target for Marseille ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Croatian Media (Sportske Novosti), Marseille are interested in Caen striker.
The Croatia international has joined Caen from Standard Liège for a fee in the region of 2.5 million euros in August 2016. The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Caen until June 2019.
Ivan Santini has played 38 times for Caen since signing from Standard Liège, scoring 18 goals and creating two assists in that time.
Caen striker is considered to be one of the best strikers in Croatia.
The Croatia international has been in outstanding form for Caen this season.
Ivan Santini has represented Croatia at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning four caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in May 2017. As a member of Croatia national football team, Ivan Santini has won one cap.
The Croatia international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Rudi García wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Rudi García will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Caen striker is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Serie A club Bologna and Köln are apparently trailing Marseille in the pursuit of Caen striker.
How strong that interest is and whether Marseille will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
