Manchester United set to sign Porto fullback Alex Telles
When Manchester United set their eyes on a player, more often than not, they force their way into getting him. This time they have set their sights on Alex Telles, and the club are working hard to cut a deal with Porto for the fullback.
As per British media, Manchester United are set to sign Porto fullback Alex Telles.
The Brazil international was signed by Porto in July 2016 from Galatasaray for a fee of 6.5 million euros. The 27-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
The fullback has banged in 13 goals and provided 12 assists in 49 matches for Porto last term on all fronts.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best fullbacks in Brazil.
Alex Telles has earned one senior cap for the Brazil national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.
His impressive performances last season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new fullback and Telles is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
His arrival would give Manchester United some much needed tactical flexibility.

According to the report, “Manchester United are aiming to close a deal for Porto fullback Alex Telles. A Bola says the Brazil international’s agents are in England today for talks with United over personal terms. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants competition at left-back for Luke Shaw and has Telles under consideration as an option. With a deal to 2021, Telles is available from Porto and there’s a belief amongst intermediaries that he will be a United player before their Premier League season kicks off next weekend. United are also in talks with Real Madrid for Sergio Reguilon, though in Portugal it’s claimed Telles is now favoured by Solskjaer.”
