Manchester United pushing to sign Aaron Ramsey
Manchester United need to strengthen their midfield this winter.
The reports in England suggested that Manchester United are pushing to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The 29-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Wales international joined Juventus from Arsenal on a free transfer in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
The midfielder provided one assist in 11 matches for Juventus this season across all fronts.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Wales.
Ramsey has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 16 goals in 60 senior appearances for the Wales national team.
The midfielder is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Juve this winter and the list of suitors in the Wales international continues to grow.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to sign a new midfielder and Ramsey is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Ramsey and believes he can get the most out of the Wales international.
United are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.
The Wales international will offer the Manchester United boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Manchester United are reportedly leading the chase as Juventus prepare to cut their losses with Aaron Ramsey. The Wales star left Arsenal for Turin on a free transfer in July 2019. He signed a four-year deal with the Italian giants worth whopping £400,000-per-week. But nearly 18 months on, the 29-year-old playmaker has struggled to earn a regular starting spot – particularly since Andrea Pirlo’s arrival. Ramsey has scored just four goals and provided two assists in 46 appearances. He has also missed 12 games through various injury issues. The Daily Mail reports that Ramsey is not part of Pirlo’s plans going forward and will be allowed to move. That news is said to have alerted United, who are after new midfield recruits and have been linked with Ramsey in the past. With Paul Pogba looking certain to move on after his agent’s recent admission, a potential Ramsey switch to Old Trafford certainly makes sense.”
