Manchester United eye a 68 million euros transfer for Sevilla centre-back: A good move by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Manchester United eye a 68 million euros transfer for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.

The centre-back joined Sevilla from Bordeaux for a fee in the region of 25 million euros in 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.

The France international has banged in two goals in 27 matches for Sevilla this term on all fronts. He has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France.

Kounde has represented France at Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning five caps and scoring one goal.

The 22-year-old performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including United.

Adding a centre-back remains United’s top priority this summer and Solskjær will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming months.

European heavyweights Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Real Madrid are also chasing the player, while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have tracked the Kounde in the past. Solskjaer currently has Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe to call on as partners for first choice Harry Maguire.”

It would take a huge offer from the Red Devils to prise the 22-year-old centre-back from Sevilla.
