Manchester City interested in Theo Hernandez
The defensive department of the Manchester City squad needs quality additions this winter.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Manchester City are interested in Milan left-back Theo Hernandez.
The France international was signed by Milan in July 2019 from Real Madrid for a fee of 21.5 million euros. The 23-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.
The left-back has featured in two matches for Milan this term, providing one assist in all competitions.
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in France. As a member of France national football team, Hernandez won one cap.
His impressive performances last season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new left-back and Hernandez is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The France international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Guardiola wants to target in the winter transfer window.
The English giants are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Theo Hernandez is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. The France international will offer City boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

The Sun’s Martin Blackburn reports Theo is interesting City as a replacement Benjamin Mendy. Mendy’s arrest last week has shocked City and they’re now seeking potential left-back successors. And top of the agenda is the outstanding Theo.”

Manchester City will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Milan to the negotiating table. City have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.
AC Milan would be wise to keep the France international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.

Theo Hernandez is very highly rated in Italy and he could be a superb long term signing for City.
Signing the 23-year-old in the winter transfer window would be a masterstroke from Guardiola. City fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
