According to multiple reports emanating from England, Manchester City are eyeing move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney.
Arsenal spent 27 million euros to sign the Scotland international from Celtic in the summer of 2019. The 25-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2026.
The left-back has banged in one goal and provided three assists in 25 matches last term on all fronts.
He is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Scotland. Tierney has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 32 senior appearances for the Scotland national team.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new left-back and Kieran Tierney is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The Scotland international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Guardiola wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Kieran Tierney is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch.
According to the report, “Manchester City have included Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney on a shortlist for left-back options. City signed left-back Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht, however he is expected to be loaned out to Girona. Pep Guardiola has been impressed with Scotland international Tierney since his move to Arsenal in 2019. Other left-backs on Guardiola’s shortlist include Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro and Stuttgart star Borna Sosa. Wolves youngster Rayan Ait-Nouri and Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo are also on the list. City were favourites to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton until Chelsea hijacked the deal with a £62m transfer.”
