It’s no secret that Liverpool are interested in Fiorentina’s striker Dusan Vlahovic. But who isn’t?
British source claim that Liverpool have opened talks for Dusan Vlahovic.
The 21-year-old has been with Fiorentina since 2018, having signed for the club from Partizan for 1.95 million euros. The Serbia international’s current deal expires in 2023.
The striker banged in six goals and provided one assist in 8 matches this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third.
He is considered to be one of the best strikers in Serbia. Vlahovic has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 3 goals in 10 senior appearances for the Serbia national team.
The Serbia international has been in impressive form for Fiorentina this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Liverpool.
Jürgen Klopp wants to sign a new striker and Vlahovic is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Vlahovic and believes he can get the most out of the Serbia international.
The 21-year-old is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. He will offer the Liverpool boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Liverpool are interested in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. The 21 year-old has rejected an offer from Fiorentina in recent days that would’ve made him the highest paid player in the club’s history. Instead, there’s an acceptance Vlahovic will have to be sold in 2022, with his current deal now having less than two years to run. Tuttosport says Liverpool have come forward for Vlahovic, making contact with Fiorentina. The Reds are in the market for a new striker and view Vlahovic as a more realistic target than PSG star Kylian Mbappe.”

The Reds have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Serbia international. Fiorentina would be wise to keep him, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
Good signing for Liverpool?
Signing the 21-year-old would be a masterstroke from Jürgen Klopp.
Dusan Vlahovic will be an ideal choice for Klopp as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers. Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Liverpool.
Liverpool fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
How strong that interest is and whether Liverpool will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
