The latest reports in England and Italy suggest that Liverpool are linked with surprise move for Napoli centre-back Nikola Maksimovic.
Napoli spent 21 million euros to sign the Serbia international from Torino in the summer of 2017. The 29-year-old has a valid contract with Napoli until June 2021.
The centre-back has featured in 13 matches for Napoli this term.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Serbia. The Napoli centre-back has also represented the Serbia at various youth levels before going on to secure 25 senior caps for his country thus far.
The defender has just 6 months remaining on his contract and Napoli may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.
Adding a centre-back remains Liverpool’s top priority this winter and Jürgen Klopp will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.
The report claims that Liverpool manager has extensively scouted Maksimovic and is considering a move for the centre-back.
