According to a report from Tribalfootball, Liverpool are linked with shock Alexis Mac Allister move.

The Argentina international was signed by Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2019 from Argentinos Juniors for a fee of 8 million euros. The 24-year-old has a contract until 2025 with the club.

The central midfielder has registered five goals in 14 matches for Brighton this season on all fronts.

He is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Argentina. Mac Allister has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 14 senior appearances for the Argentina national team.

Alexis Mac Allister has been in impressive form for Brighton and Argentina this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp wants to sign a new central midfielder and Mac Allister is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of the 24-year-old and believes he can get the most out of the Argentina international.

Liverpool are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

The former Argentinos Juniors man will offer the Liverpool boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

According to the report, “Liverpool are eyeing Brighton attacker Alexis Mac Allister. La Repubblica says the Reds are interested in signing the Argentina international along with a host of other clubs. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Benfica have also been credited with an interest in Mac Allister. It has been reported that Mac Allister is valued between 35m-40m euros (£30m-£35m).”

Brighton and Hove Albion are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the midfielder, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

The Reds have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Argentina international.

If Liverpool and Klopp are seriously considering a central midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister could also prove to be a smart option.

Mac Allister has all the skillset required to be a success story at Anfield. Therefore, it makes sense for Jürgen Klopp to step up his attempts to bring the Argentinian central midfielder to Premier League giants.

Liverpool fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
