Liverpool keen to land Shakhtar Donestsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk
The highly rated Ukraine international is attracting interest from several top European clubs and Liverpool scouts are also regularly watching him.
According to multiple reports emanating from England, Liverpool are keen to land Shakhtar Donestsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The 21-year-old winger has played all his life at Shakhtar Donestsk. He has made his way through the youth system at the Ukrainian club. Hs contract at Shakhtar is set to expire in December 2026.
The winger banged in two goals and provided three assists in five matches this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third.
He has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Ukraine. Mykhaylo Mudryk has represented Ukraine at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 28 caps and scoring 9 goals, before making his senior international debut in June 2022. As a member of Ukraine national football team, Mudryk won five caps.
The 21-year-old will be high in demand this winter, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Shakhtar Donestsk this term.
By the club’s own admission, Shakhtar winger is Liverpool’s number one transfer target.
The Liverpool manager has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move this winter.
Liverpool are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The 21-year-old is undoubtedly a talented star who can make an impact in the Premier League. His arrival would give Liverpool some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “Liverpool are reportedly stepping up their chase for Mykhaylo Mudryk with their top scout deployed to watch him in action several times in the next few weeks. The Shakhtar Donestsk star is turning heads after some impressive performances of late. The 21-year-old right footer, who operates mainly on the left-wing, has four goal involvements (two goals and two assists) from two Champions League matches this season. Mudryk has been strongly linked with Arsenal in the past with the Gunners reportedly seeing a £25m summer bid failing. And that looks to be a wise choice from a Shakhtar point of view with Mudryk now likely to command a higher fee. To that end, Liverpool are now very much on his trail with reports on Monday revealing Liverpool’s interest. That’s despite Mudryk previously dropping a hint as to a future move to Arsenal. Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claims as many as 15 clubs are keeping tabs on his progress. And the trusted reporter, speaking to Caught Offside, claims Shakhtar now value the winger in the £35m – £40m (€45m – €50m) bracket.”
