Leicester City are linked with surprise move for Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, according to the football transfer rumours in British media.
The Guinea international joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of 60 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
The midfielder has featured in 15 matches for the Reds this term in all competitions.
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Guinea. Keita has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 8 goals in 37 senior appearances for the Guinea national team.
Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a new midfielder and Keita is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Keita and believes he can get the most out of the Guinea international.
The 26-year-old will offer the Leicester City boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Leicester City are eyeing Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita. Keita has battled over his time with the Reds and is expected to be made available this summer. Football Insider says Leicester are keen to keep Keita in England next season. Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be a big fan of Keita. He likes the player’s energy and ability on the ball. Liverpool value Keita at around £30m.”
