Lazio linked with a move for Olympiacos midfielder Pajtim Kasami
Olympiacos midfielder Pajtim Kasami has emerged as a surprise target for Lazio in the last day of the January transfer window.
Lazio are looking set to land Pajtim Kasami after Greek Media revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest ahead of a potential move today.
Pajtim Kasami has joined Olympiacos from Fulham for a fee in the region of 5 million euros in 2014. The 24 year-old has a valid contract with Olympiacos until June 2018.
Since his arrival from Fulham, Pajtim Kasami has scored nine goals and provided nine assists in 66 games for Olympiacos. This season he was loaned to Nottingham Forest where he has scored one goal and provided two assists in 25 games in all competition.
Pajtim Kasami has also represented Switzerland at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-21 level, winning 47 caps across all age groups and scoring 13 goals. He is a member of Switzerland national team since October 2013, winning 12 caps and scoring two goals.
The Switzerland international has been a target of Simone Inzaghi as the manager looks to bolster his midfield options for the second part of the season.
Euro Football Rumours were informed that Lazio representatives are preparing loan offer for the Switzerland international.
How strong that interest is and whether Lazio will make a today move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
