Juventus enter talks with Frenkie de Jong
When Juventus set their eyes on a player, more often than not, they force their way into getting him. This time they have set their sights on Frenkie de Jong, and the club are working hard to cut a deal with Barcelona for the midfielder.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Juventus have entered talks with Frenkie de Jong.
The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Barcelona spent 86 million euros to sign the Netherlands international from Ajax in the summer of 2019. The 24-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2026.
This season, De Jong has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in 29 appearances for Barcelona.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Netherlands. De Jong has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 38 senior appearances for the Netherlands national team.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Juventus.
Massimiliano Allegri is looking to shore up his midfield options and De Jong happens to be a target. He is a firm fan of Barcelona midfielder and Juventus could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
Juventus are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
The former Ajax man would provide a good variety to Juventus’ midfield.
According to the report, “Juventus are making a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Il Tirreno says Barca could be willing to sell the Holland international this summer. And Juventus have held a round of talks with De Jong’s agent, Ali Dursun. Interestingly, Dursun also takes care of Denis Zakaria, who he has just placed at Juve from Borussia Monchengladbach. Barca will seek €70m to sell De Jong this summer.”

Juventus fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
