Inter preparing move for Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba
Inter Milan target Jordi Alba to boost their defensive options.
The reports in Spain suggested that Inter Milan are preparing move for Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba.
The Spain international joined Barcelona from Valencia for a fee in the region of 14 million euros in July 2012. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.
The left-back has 3 goals and 7 assists in 35 La Liga games this season.
The 32-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Spain. His record for Spain is also impressive. Jordi Alba has scored 8 goals in 75 matches for Spain at senior level.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Inter.
Simone Inzaghi wants to sign a new left-back and Alba is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Barcelona left-back and Inter could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The Italian giants are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Jordi Alba is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. His arrival would give Inter some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “Inter Milan are lining up a move for Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba. Mundo Deportivo says Inter have lost Ashley Young, who re-joined Aston Villa last week on a free transfer, while Aleksandar Kolarov’s deal is set to expire at the end of the month. The Italian side’s £250million loan from Oaktree Capital has boosted the finances and prevented the club from financial ruin but they still need to raise a further £87m from player sales and also impose a 20 per cent wage reduction among the first-team squad.Inter are set to make a bid for the 32-year-old and are willing to involve players in the deal. The report adds the desire to sign Alba comes just 12 months after they attempted to recruit his Barcelona team-mate Junior Firpo as part of the deal to bring Argentina star Lautaro Martinez to the Nou Camp.”

If Inter can agree on a fee with Barcelona, the deal should be easy to complete.
Good signing for Inter Milan?
A left-back of Alba’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Inter Milan squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Simone Inzaghi’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his defensive department.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Inter.
Inter fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
How strong that interest is and whether Inter Milan will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
