Inter Milan linked with Hector Herrera
There has been numerous midfielders linked with Inter Milan in past few months.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Inter Milan are linked with surprise move for Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.
The Mexico international was signed by Porto in July 2013 from Pachuca for a fee of 11 million euros. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2019 with the club.
Herrera has played 219 times for Porto since signing from Pachuca, scoring 29 goals and creating 33 assists in that time.
The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Mexico.
His record for Mexico is also impressive. Herrera has scored 5 goals in 70 matches for Mexico at senior level.
The midfielder’s contract at Porto is about to expire and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Inter Milan showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.
Luciano Spalletti has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move this winter.
Hector Herrera has the talent to play many roles in midfield.
According to Calciomercato, “He might not be at the top of Beppe Marotta and Ausilio’s wish-list but he surely is a strong candidate for the nerazzurri: we are talking about Hector Herrera. It has been a few weeks now that the Inter management have been considering his name as he could be an alternative to Nicolo Barella (who has a lot of suitors). Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United all have interest in Barella as the nerazzurri will also have to take into account the Fifa Financial Fair play rules. With Cagliari potentially asking 50 million euros for Barella, Marotta and Ausilio have started looking at other solutions and this is where Herrera comes into play sources have told Calciomercato.com.”
