Inter Milan join the hunt for Youcef Atal
Inter Milan are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Algeria international Youcef Atal.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Inter Milan have joined the hunt for Nice right-back Youcef Atal.
The Algeria international joined Nice from KV Kortrijk for a fee in the region of 3 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Atal made 28 appearances across all competitions for Nice, scoring six goals in return.
The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best full-backs in Algeria.
As a member of Algeria national football team, Atal won 7 caps and he scored one goal.
The Algeria international has impressed in the Ligue 1 this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.
Inter Milan are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The Algeria international would be a versatile addition for the Inter Milan, having featured at right-back and in a wider midfield role.
According to Calciomercato, “Inter are increasingly looking at Nice’s full-back come winger Youcef Atal. Having started the season playing right-back he has recently been employed on the wings, and to devastating affect too, as shown by his hatrick recently against Guingamp. It was this performance that has really put his name on the lips of sporting director’s around the world. But Nice have been steadfast in their position that he is not for sale this summer. However that has not stopped clubs from positioning themselves for his signing, and it is thought that despite Nice’s objections, he may still see a move in the summer. Inter are joined by PSG and Atletico Madrid on a growing list of admirers.”

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Inter.
How strong that interest is and whether Inter Milan will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
