Inter Milan in advanced talks to bring Roma star Edin Dzeko
The attacking department of the Inter squad needs quality additions this summer.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Inter Milan are set to sign Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
Roma spent 11 million euros to sign the Bosnia-Herzegovina international from Manchester City in the summer of 2016. The 35-year-old has one year left on his current contract which expires in 2022.
The striker has banged in 13 goals and provided 5 assists in 38 matches last term on all fronts.
His record for Bosnia-Herzegovina is also impressive. Dzeko has scored 59 goals in 114 matches for Bosnia-Herzegovina at senior level.
By the club’s own admission, Roma striker Dzeko is Inter’s number one transfer target.
Simone Inzaghi is a firm fan of Roma striker and Inter could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The Italian champions are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Edin Dzeko is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Inzaghi’s side.
According to the report, “Inter Milan are closing on a deal for Roma striker Edin Dzeko. Sky Italia says Inter are in talks with Roma for Dzeko and have reached an agreement with his camp over a two-year contract. The Bosnia international was not in the starting line-up for the 5-2 defeat to Real Betis on the weekend. Roma and Inter are now negotiating a fee for the veteran. However, a move may be delayed as Roma wish to find a replacement for Dzeko ahead of allowing him to leave for the champions.”

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Milan.
Inter fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
