Inter Miami eyeing move for Sergio Romero
In the modern world of football, the transfer season lasts year-round. While the literal transfers of players take place in the summer and winter windows, rumors, speculation and even concrete agreements can happen any time.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Inter Miami are eyeing move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
The 33-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Argentina international joined Manchester United from Sampdoria on a free transfer in July 2015. His contract expires in the summer of 2021.
Since his arrival from Sampdoria, Sergio Romero has conceded 27 goals and provided 39 clean sheets in 61 games for Manchester United.
The 33-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Argentina.
As a member of Argentina national football team, Romero won 96 caps.
United are unlikely to extend Romero’s contract. This winter will be the last opportunity for the English club to get a decent fee for the Argentina international goalkeeper.
Inter Miami are looking to sign a goalkeeper and have identified the 33-year-old as potential transfer target.
David Beckham is a firm fan of Manchester United goalkeeper and Inter Miami could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
Inter Miami are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
According to the report, “Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is a target for Inter Miami. The Argentine, 33, wanted to force through an exit in the summer when Dean Henderson came back to Old Trafford and bumped him down to third choice. The Athletic reports David Beckham’s MLS side are exploring the option of landing the stopper. The new season is planning to start on schedule in early March as things stand. However, salary caps in the American league could cause problems. Romero is thought to be on around £100,000 per week and that may be too much for Inter Miami to stump up.”

Inter Miami will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Romero to join the club.
It is claimed that Manchester are open to letting Romero go.
Good signing for Inter Miami?
If Sergio Romero is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Inter Miami.
A move away from Manchester will not be only the best move for Romero, but also for the club.
Signing the 33-year-old would be a masterstroke from Beckham.
Inter Miami fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
How strong that interest is and whether Inter Miami will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
