Fiorentina will look to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram
Fiorentina are reportedly keeping a close eye on many forwards across the Europe.
According to the football transfer rumours in German and Italian media, Fiorentina will look to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.
The France international was signed by Borussia Monchengladbach in July 2019 from Guingamp for a fee of 9 million euros. The 22-year-old has a contract until 2023 with the club.
The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France.
Marcus Thuram has represented France at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 40 caps and scoring 9 goals.
The France international has been in impressive form for Borussia Monchengladbach this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Fiorentina.
Fiorentina have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Marcus Thuram is a long-term target of Fiorentina and could be a decent addition for Giuseppe Iachini’s side.
Fiorentina are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The Bundesliga player is highly talented and he has a big future ahead of himself. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.
According to the report, “Fiorentina have set their sights on Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, son of former Parma and Juventus defender Lilian. The Viola are becoming something of a haven for the next generation of Serie A players, already counting on the sons of Enrico Chiesa and Andrea Sottil. According to La Nazione newspaper, their next target is Marcus Thuram, who joined Borussia Monchengladbach from Guingamp last summer. Unlike his defender father, this generation of Thuram is a striker who can play any of the three forward roles. He has 12 goals and nine assists in 35 competitive games so far this season. It’s reported agent Mino Raiola is ready to help negotiate a deal worth €15m, as the price-tag has dropped from €20m due to the knock-on effects of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. Curiously, Federico Chiesa’s father and Marcus Thuram’s Dad were teammates at Parma from 1996 to 99.”
